Wonderful place to stay
An African Villa is centrally located, warm, and a real treat. Kayla, Louis, and the whole team really made our stay special. We’ve already recommended them to several friends and would gladly return.

Wonderful Guesthouse in Quiet Neighborhood in Cape Town
I stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. Very friendly, helpful people. Nice quiet neighbourhood, spacious rooms and a great breakfast. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. A short uber ride to all the highlights in Cape Town. I highly recommend An African Villa.

Very enjoyable stay in a great location
We took three rooms in An African Villa and from walking through the door from the quiet leafy street, the quality of the house is immediately apparent. It's a boutique B&B and some. Hotel like space abounds inside and out with decorations subtly conveying that warm African feel. Louis is extremely personable and friendy, relaxed and efficient and his team also convey this efficient but friendly manner. Its location for us was ideal; within easy walking distance of a cluster of restaurants in the buzzing, up and coming, Tamboerskloof quarter and also within a short drive or taxi ride of wider Cape Town and the V&A. Clean, fresh and comfortable room - water regulation was still in force but managable - and we had a great leafy view of Table Mountain from the window. Breakfast was just right, plenty of cereal to choice, breads, fruit etc with an individually cooked hot breakfast as well. We have no hesitation in recommending Louis, his team and An African Villa for your stay in this iconic city.

A very good b&b
We stayed at An African Villa around September 20 for three nights. The villa is very comfortable with large well appointed rooms. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The Villa is situated in the suburbs of Cape Town and only a short Uber trip to the city centre. You certainly should not be put off by the fact that it is not inner city. The Villa has excellent restaurants within walking distance and is well placed for trips to Cape Town’s attractions, such as Table Mountain or Kirstenbosch Gardens. Louis and his team made us very welcome. Highly recommended!

Great Guest House in Quiet Neighborhood
My husband and I stayed at An African Villa for 4 nights before we left on the Garden Route, and 1 night when we returned. I highly recommend this Guest House. The décor immediately gets you in a South African mood, and the employees are extra friendly and attentive. They offer a complimentary afternoon snack, and a complimentary full breakfast (eggs and bacon cooked to order). It is a short walk to several restaurants, although they do advise that guests not walk after dark. We would definitely choose this guest house again if we are in Cape Town.

Excellent boutique hotel in the 'real' Cape Town
What a wonderful find this place was. We stayed four nights and felt like we got a glimpse into the real Cape Town. Excellent room, great restaurants nearby, a view of Table Mountain, even a packed breakfast for an early morning tour. Louis, the manager, is extremely helpful and went out of his way to make it a pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

Perfect Location, Great People, Beautiful Place
I just wanted to write a quick note about our wonderful stay at An African Villa. I was traveling with my almost 14-year-old daughter and her same age friend this past August. First of all, the location was right where you'd want to be. Tamboerskloof (I finally learned how to spell it) is an area with lots going on. Within walking distance of downtown if you wanted, but a quick and cheap Uber drive away to so many things. Just three blocks from the B&B is a great little area with several restaurants--perhaps my favorite fish restaurant ever (Millers Thumb) and Indian restaurant (Maharaja). Come down the street from the B&B, and Boom! there's Table Mountain staring down at you. Kaylah greet us when we arrived. She's at the reception, and welcomes everyone when they come in. She was super friendly and helpful. Louis likewise spent a great deal of time helping give advice on places to see and things to do while we were there. I believe we did just about everything he suggested (and are so happy we did). Jimmy brought the dachshunds in one day to the great delight of the kids (okay, and maybe me). I enjoyed chatting with him at length over breakfast one morning. The staff who cleaned the rooms were wonderful as well. Every morning, we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast that they prepared for us (a big Thanks! for that). Things to do...More

Honeymoon Magic
It has been years since we stayed at An African Villa, and it's still the best stay we've had in a hotel or BnB EVER. Beautiful rooms and wonderful staff. And that breakfast. We still DREAM about that breakfast, literally, 2 yrs later! It was the perfect place to kick off our honeymoon in South Africa. We can't wait to come back.

Superb stay and made very welcome.
This is a small boutique hotel that goes the extra mile to ensure their guests enjoy their stay. The staff go out of their way to inform their guests about Cape Town and to ensure that they have a pleasant and comfortable stay. We stayed twice over two weeks and both rooms were excellently appointed with en suite bathrooms. Alan and Nicola

A Fantastic Place!
Staying at An African Villa (AAV) played a huge part in how much we enjoyed our stay in Cape Town, thank you so much for an amazing stay! We researched lots of places and read a lot of reviews before picking AAV and we were so glad we did! Even before we arrived the help and advice was fantastic, quick responses, clear information on things like car hire, wine tours and top restaurant tips. The room we had was brilliant - calm, relaxing and elegant. We booked a Platinum room which we were thrilled to find had a view of Table Mountain. Breakfasts were super and the ladies were so lovely, very friendly and attentive. The cake in the afternoon, honour bar, evening sherry and port were all super touches. The absolute highlight was meeting the four 'resident' sausage dogs who sometimes drop by with one of the owners. We were celebrating a birthday while we're were there and they very kindly bought Taylor, Monty and Bertie in to see us! Thank you so much for making our day! The lovely cake helped too of course, but the Sausages were just gorgeous. We cannot recommend AAV highly enough and we can't imagine a trip to Cape Town without going back to AAV! Once again, thanks to Kaylah, Louis, Jimmy, Cindy & Keith!
