The newly established Farmers Market in the Company Gardens by the name of the Good Company Farmers Market was inaugurated late last year towards the end of November. The idea is to have a weekly Saturday Farmers Market where you can collect your fresh produce like your organic veggies, breads and cheeses, and then sit down afterwards and have your breakfast like eggs Benedict on potato rostis paired with coffee or a freshly squeezed juice. The space is ideal for luncheon under the trees offering a large variety of meals ranging from burgers, pizzas, veggie meals to pulled pork paninis. All this may be enjoyed with either a fresh smoothie or something a little more delectable like a glass of vino, bubbles or ice cold beer on tap.
There are several lifestyle products on offer too which are all locally produced in South Africa and are of exceptionally high quality. There are even beautifully written books available.
The space is magnificently situated under the ancient old oaks in the Paddocks area which is at the top end of the Company’s Gardens, alongside the Iziko National Gallery. There are rolling lawns that are adjacent to the Market Area which are ideal for picnicing with the whole family. We encourage families to stroll down from the surrounding neighborhood with their children on bicycles and bringing along the family dog. The space is extremely child and dog friendly!
Every Saturday, we are offering live music which showcases local talent and Gavin Minter has been given the task to present amazing performing artists.
So do pop along, tell a friend or bring a family member and come enjoy this glorious space of ours nestled under Table Mountain in the Company’s Garden. Luckily for our guest who are staying at An African Villa you have the option of walking to the company gardens which will take you approximately 15 minutes.
